Microblading is a type of eyebrow architecture. It is all about creating the best shape for each face, a tailer made approach for each client.

This new and updated semi-permanent make-up technique, creates the desired fullness and shape of the eyebrows.

Unlike a regular tattoo, microblading is a form of tattoo artistry where very fine needles implant featherweight strokes with a medical grade pigment on the epidermis layer of the skin, creating fine, realistic and natural hair strokes. Since the pigment is impacted closer to the skins surface the lines and color appear crisper than a traditional tattoo and mirrors lifelike hair strokes.

The results are fuller, natural and symmetrical looking eyebrows, even if no hair is present!

The effects can last up to 12-24 months, depending on your skin type, after which the pigment fades leaving the skin and your natural brows exactly as they were.

We will create a brow map to perfectly compliment all your facial features. After you have signed off on the shape and color we will begin creating the hairlike strokes to blend with your natural brow hairs or create a brand new look.

Before you leave, we will schedule your follow up appointment 4-6 weeks from your initial appointment and will send you home with a healing ointment and aftercare instructions.

4-6 weeks later at the follow up appointment we will go over your brows once more with our microblading or shading tool to make sure the ink sets into your skin properly. Then you'll be good to go with gorgeous semi-permanent brows!!!

In order for your new brows to heal properly and look their best the Pre Care Instructions found below are of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE! Pre-Care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the service. Excessing bleeding during the procedure can dilute the pigment color and lead to poor results.

If you have reference pictures, please feel free to bring these to your appointment.

  • No brow waxing, tinting, or threading one week prior (the more natural hair growth you have, the better!
  • Shower and wash your face the day of your appointment.
  • No Retin-A near the brow area 4 weeks before or after the procedure.
  • Refrain from use of any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products close to the eyebrow area 2 weeks prior (and avoid on eyebrow area after procedure)
  • Avoid Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion or facials for 4-weeks prior procedure.
  • Avoid sun and tanning one week prior to procedure.
  • Do not work out the day of your appointment.
  • Refrain from the use of Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen aspirin, aspirin-containing medications, or other blood-thinning medications for seven days before and two days after any procedure. No medication should ever be discontinued without first consulting your physician.
  • Do not drink alcohol within 24 hours of your procedure.
  • Avoid caffeine for 12 hours before your procedure.
  • You will need to avoid pools, lakes, salt water and extreme sun exposure for at least two weeks following your appointment, so make vacation plans accordingly!
  • You may bring a music player with ear buds for relaxation.
  • I strongly advise prospective new clients to book their first Microblading appointment at least 2 months in advance of Vacations, Weddings, and special occasions. This allows adequate time for healing of both your Initial Microblading Appointment as well as a Touch-Up Appointment 4 to 6 Weeks after.

Proper care following your procedure is necessary to achieve the best results. Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of color is to be expected. This is the purpose of the touch-up visit. Please review the following directions and refer to them as necessary. If during your healing process you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

  • Ice packs protected with a cloth may be applied as necessary to reduce swelling. Sleeping slightly elevated helps alleviate swelling sometimes seen the morning after facial procedures.
  • Avoid wetting your eyebrows in the shower and when washing your face.
  • Gently dab freshly tattooed area with a damp cotton pad or lightly splash face with lukewarm water and pat dry, to remove all the lymph and previously applied cream.
  • Apply recommended healing agents sparingly with a clean q-tip, avoid using your fingers.
  • Repeat the above cleansing process 2-3 times a day to keep the wound clean and avoid scab formation.
  • Do not apply any make-up or products on eyebrows for 7 days
  • Avoid sleeping on the face
  • No exercising and/or excessive sweating for 10 days after. Heavy sweating will cause the hair strokes to blur and detail to be lost
  • Some itching is normal. DO NOT PICK, PEEL, OR SCRATCH the treated area or your color may heal unevenly and you risk scarring and infection.
  • Do not expose your healing skin to direct sun, tanning beds, hot tubs, (tub baths if body area treated), saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools, direct shower spray, hot water, skin creams, ointments, or lotions other than what you have been instructed to use for 2 weeks following your procedure.
  • Avoid facial massage, facial steaming, and sauna
  • Do not bleach, tint or dye the tattooed area for one month following the procedure.
  • Do not apply any anti-acne products (e.g. Benzyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Proactive, etc.) or lightening creams (skin bleaching creams) such as hydrocodone to the treated area while healing.

Long-term Care

  • Use a good sunscreen daily. Sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics and may cause irritation even years later.
  • Avoid sunbathing, solarium, light therapies, chemical peelings, fruit acids, microdermabrasion, and creams that contain regeneration factors.
  • Always avoid laser treatments over the treated area (Fraxel Laser, IPL), because they can destroy the pigment and cause burns.
  • Use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can lead to faster pigment fading
  • If you are planning an MRI, or other medical procedure, please inform your physician of your cosmetic tattoo.
  • If you donate blood, it is a Red Cross policy that you must wait one year after any tattooing procedure in unregulated states – check if restrictions apply to you.

  • You are using ACCUTANE or have used it within the past year
  • If you have very oily skin or very large pores on your forehead. This can cause the pigment to not hold in your skin or it may heal very powdery and fuzzy with loss of detail.
  • If you want very thin brows. There needs to be at least a slight thickness in order to achieve desired hairlike detail.
  • If you are sunburned
  • If your skin is very delicate, fragile, sensitive or problematic. The older we get the more fragile and thin our skin gets. People aged 60 and up won't have as good of results as younger more plump skin, and may experience loss of detail. discoloration,or additional blurring.
  • Are pregnant or nursing
  • Are allergic to Lidocaine
  • Are highly prone to scarring or keloids
  • Are epileptic

Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in color, more sharply defined or even have a more filled in appearance. This can last up to a week after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place. The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but there should be minimal discomfort and minimal redness.

During the initial healing period, there may be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own. This is very important! If scabs come off prematurely, the pigment will come out with it!

The complete healing process takes about 4-6 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating.

Microbladed brows go through many phases while healing! Here is so you know what to expect....

Day 1 - Finely detailed, slight redness

Day 2-4 - What you see is about 20-40% darker, bolder and more solid that what your healed result will present. This is only temporary- don't panic!

Your eyebrows may begin to itch and the pigment may appear somewhat raised. Don’t scratch them

Day 5-12- The scab naturally exfoliates, peels and flakes away over the course of several days. The fresh skin underneath is white and has a waxy coating, making it appear that the brows are too light. Be patient!

Day 10-30 - After 10 days you may use brow makeup very gently if you need it. The color will slowly come back to life and bloom back to the surface as that new, white skin settles in and heals. Wait at least 4 weeks to see the true color, as it will take on new strength, and it is only after 4 weeks that your touch-up/adjustment can be done. Your second appointment is to tighten up your shape, touch up any light spots and also to assess how your skin reacts to the process, and the chosen color. I note everyone's pigment blend, in case we need to layer in a different shade or adjust the tone. There are always options!

This is a two or three step process. Brows look really finished after the 2nd appointments.
